2025 Week 12 Recap

First off, AI is a pain in the ass. Chat GPT created the image above for me. It left off Aron and Clint I think, so I asked it to add them back. It added 4 people including Aron's head on the turkey plate. Fine, I'll try Grok. Grok took everyone and put us in a rap battle in the park. I have zero idea why it did that. I asked it again to do what I told it to do and it put us in a billiards room. AI is retarded. So we'll have to do with what I used above.

I know last week I missed the article. I planned to do it Sunday morning but I said, "Fuck it. I'll go out for your guys this week." So here we are. This week we're going over the following:

Week 11 and 12 Bets:

Bryan vs Austin - Loser buys 3 drinks or snacks when we golf on Thanksgiving. Winner: Bryan

Rusty vs Brady - Winner gets the loser's 11th pick in 2026. Loser gets winner's 13th pick in 2026. Winner: Brady

Week 11 and 12 FAAB Recap:

No one has spent a dollar of FAAB in the last two weeks. Pretty crazy with the number of RBs that have been available.

Week 11 and 12 Bad Moves:

Chris started JJ McCarthy who has looked like garbage against a good Packers defense last week. He also started Bucky Irving who was out hurt. He ended up losing to Logan by 22, which easily could have been prevented with better moves.
Aron didn't start a kicker against Kevin last week, but he still won by less than half a point.
Generally, just a lot of teams that needed RBs and WRs have not played the waiver wire the last couple of weeks.

Week 13 Power Rankings:

Kind of crazy to see 5 Watonga teams in the top 6 of the power rankings and all 6 in the top 8. As we saw in the Eagle Cup, Watonga is pretty dominant this year. Could Watonga break the record and get 5 teams in the playoff? It's very possible with 2 weeks left.

Playoff Outlook:

Eliminated:

Logan and Aron

With two weeks left only two teams are mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs, which is pretty wild. They play each other this week, but next week Logan could cost Kevin his bye or even playoffs, while Aron could keep Lyndon out of the playoffs.

Weatherford Division:

Lyndon, at 5-7 has to win out. Lucky for him, he has two very winnable games against Chris and Aron. He needs a lot of help from other teams as well, but let's just work on winning these two games first.

Speaking of Chris, He probably needs to win out. He's the lowest scoring team that is still eligible for the playoffs. He also needs to win out to have any shot. He gets Lyndon this week and then Bruce next week.

Bruce and Kevin both sit atop the Weatherford division at 7-5. Kevin has a 48.5 point advantage on Bruce, but the most important thing here is who wins this week between the two. The winner this week is in the driver's seat for the bye.

Watonga Division:

All 6 teams are eligible for the playoffs and all 6 teams are even eligible for the bye. Let's start with the 6-6 teams:

Brady - My points total is the lowest in the division and lower than both 7-5 Weatherford teams. Most importantly I need to win out. Big wins against Clint and Bryan will be difficult. I'm not sure that's enough to get in, but we'll start there.

Austin and Dom, also sit at 6-6, but both have a higher point total than Clint, Rusty, and Bruce who all sit at 7-5. A single win each could get them in the playoffs. Two wins could easily clinch the bye. A lot going on for these two.

Finally, we have Bryan, Rusty, and Clint at 7-5. Two wins obviously gets them in. Bryan's point lead is large enough that he controls the bye. Problem is, there are no easy wins in the Watonga division this year.

Two teams in the league are guaranteed to be 8-5 after this weekend. Four teams are guaranteed to be 7-6 or better. That's the 6 playoff teams right there. Going to be a big fight in week 14 still.

Week 13 Game Previews:

Battle for Last Place - Aron vs Logan

Listen, this game doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things other than the winner has a little advantage in the loser's bracket. I'll take Logan just because his team is on a little hot streak.

Battle for First Place, In Watonga - Bryan vs Rusty

If Bryan wins here, he's in the driver's seat for the Watonga bye. Rusty has a small lead over Clint in points, so he needs to win and stay ahead of Clint in points.

These are two of the highest projected scores of the week so this one should be close. Somehow no one on either team is going up against a very good defense and both teams are missing important WRs. If I have to pick, I'll take Bryan here.

Battle to Survive - Chris vs Lyndon

Two teams that really need a win this week here. Chris's team is falling apart, while Lyndon's team is figuring it out late.

Lyndon is currently projected to win by over 25 points. I can't say I disagree with ESPN's projection. Chris is starting possible the worst starting QB in the NFL this season and also relying on him to get his star, Jefferson, some points. That won't be easy against Seattle. I'm taking Lyndon easy here.

Battle of I've Run out of Names - Brady vs Clint

Due to my point total being so low, I basically need to win to survive. Clint is fighting for that bye and could easily grab it with a win here and a Bryan loss.

This is another high scoring projection. I have a healthy team, while Clint has 3 guys questionable. We also have 6 total players playing Thursday and Friday. We could know the winner before the first game kicks off Sunday. It's going to be an interesting Thanksgiving and Black Friday for this matchup. I'm taking Clint. Why would I ever take myself?

Battle of the Cousins - Dom vs Austin

A third Watonga game where both teams are project to score over 120 points. This game is also really important for each team's playoff hopes. Winner goes to 7-6 and controls their destiny next week.

The big difference in these two teams is the bench. Dom's lineup is basically locked in. I wouldn't replace anyone in his lineup with his bench players. On the other side, Austin has some tough decisions to make. Wan'Dale had a huge week last week on his bench. He could outscore any of the three WRs he has in his lineup. Brissett has been like a top 4 QB since Kyler went down. Do you start him vs the Bucs or Goff vs the Packers? I'm taking Dom just because I'm not sure Austin can make the right decisions.

Week 13 Game of the Week

Kevin vs Bruce

I'm picking this game as the game of the week because the winner controls their own destiny for the Weatherford bye. A win here and next week guarantee's the bye unlike in Watonga.

Both teams projected to score more than 120 points here. Both teams on 2 game losing streaks.

Kevin heavily relies on the Colts to be awesome week to week. In his last two losses the Colts were on bye for the first one and then the three he started combined for just 16.4 points last week. If the Colts are playing well, Kevin isn't playing well.

Bruce doesn't heavily rely on one team. He relies on a bunch of guys that are not playing to their potential week to week: Barkley the 3rd pick in the draft has had 1 week over 20 points, Lamar has been bad since coming back from injury, and then Quentin Johnston and Rome Odunze forgot how to play football. He has lived and died on the backs of Henderson's breakout, Bowers coming back to form, and Davante Adams playing like he's 25 years old again.

So who wins? The Colts play Houston, whos we just saw shutdown Josh Allen and the Bills. They may legit be the best defense in the NFL. If Kevin's team relies on 3-4 Colts players, that's a bad sign. St Brown and Chase Brown also have tough matchups.

Bruce's team is setup to feast this week. If Lamar, Barkley, Rome, and Johnston can't figure it out against bottom tier defenses, then I don't know when they ever will. Adams and Bowers have tough matchups, but those guys are studs and should be able to put up numbers against anyone.

I have to take Bruce here. I'm not sure why ESPN has Kevin projected to win this one. I think it could be a bloodbath honestly.
