2025 Week 2 Recap
Fantasy football is a stupid game. I don't know why we waste our time playing this every year. Justin Fields can suck a dick. He'll never be anybody in the league. It doesn't matter how many jerseys Austin buys of his.
We got a few more long term injuries to deal with:
The headline this week was Joe Burrow going on IR and most likely missing 8 weeks. It sucks that Jim Cramer liked the stonk.
Aaron Jones is going on IR as well.
Another Viking, JJ McCarthy is going on IR or is out 2 weeks at least. I'm not going to look it up because he looked bad anyways.
Week 2 Bets:
Bryan vs Austin - Winner gets round of golf - Winner: Austin
Week 2 FAAB Recap:
I think there was only 1 complete waste of money and 2 overpays on the week. Not bad for us.
Dylan Sampson - $85 - Logan - Already moved to RB2 in Cleveland after Judkins signed his rookie contract later that day. Not Looking good, but I don't hate the move in the moment.
Quentin Johnston - $42 - Bruce - Currently the WR5 on the season and followed up 22.5 points in week 1 with 14.5 points in week 2. It's looking like a great investment so far.
Hollywood Brown - $37 - Rusty - Not looking that great right now. Hollywood had 5 receptions for 5.5 points this week. Philly D is pretty good so could have a bounce-back. Overpay
Kayshon Boutte - $36 - Bruce - He had 1 reception for a TD this week. Bruce got lucky he scored a single point. This one doesn't look near as nice as Johnston. Overpay
Harold Fannin - $30 - Brady - He's no Kittle but he leads the Browns in receptions. They're going to suck all year, so hopefully that trend continues until Kittle is back at least.
Justin Fields - $10 - Brady - Fuck this guy. Couldn't drop him fast enough. Waste of money
Juwan Johnston - $0 - Bryan - Maybe the best pickup valuewise this week. TE3 through two weeks and averaging more than 10 points per week.
Week 3 Game of the Week:
Lyndon vs Bruce
Fuck me. I had an entire write up about Lyndon vs Logan being the David vs Goliath of Thumper Football before I realized it was actually Lyndon vs Bruce. Let's just act like Bruce is really good.
We have the most successful player in Thumper history (editor's correction: he's been much better the last three years, but still no titles. definitely not the most successful.) vs the losingest player in Thumper history, even if he is just 0-2 so far.
Looking at these teams, I think it could be pretty close this weekend. I don't care if Bruce has outscored him by nearly 100 points through two weeks. Lyndon's team is better than an 0-2 team. Bruce's team is really good too if everyone can stay healthy and Henderson can step up.
I have it under good authority that Austin paid an Etsy witch to make sure Bruce never wins a Thumper Bowl. Does that curse start with losing to Lyndon this week? You know what? I think it does.
Congrats Lyndon on your first win in Thumper.
Commissioner's Pick: Lyndon
