Thumper Football - Week 12 Game of the Week

We're getting down to crunch time here. Let's take a look at where everyone stands as far as playoffs go.

Watonga Division:

Brady - Clinched playoffs. Currently holds the first round bye with a two game lead on Bryan.

Bryan - Would basically need to lose all three remaining games to miss the playoffs. Still has a shot at getting the bye, but a lot needs to happen.

Rusty - Currently 5th overall, but Aron has the points tiebreaker over Rusty if they were to go into the playoffs with the same record. Better watch your back.

Clint - Currently 8th overall and one game back. Pretty far behind in points, so will really need to win out or have some losses fall his way for other teams.

Austin - Currently 9th overall. He is two games back of the playoffs, but has a small points advantage over Clint. If he can win out he has about the same chance as Clint to make it in.

Dom - Currently 10th overall. Basically in the same situation as Austin. Has to win-out and have some points fall his way.

Weatherford Division:

Logan - Clinched playoffs. Has a one game lead for the first round bye. More on his situation under Bruce.

Bruce - Clinched as far as I can tell. Currently in second in the division by one game, but has a points lead on Logan. Next week's game between Bruce and Logan will be huge as far the Weatherford first round bye.

Larry - Currently in 6th with a 19 point lead over Aron. Like Logan and Bruce, Larry plays Aron next week which will have major implications on the playoffs. Needs to win out to get the first round bye.

Aron - Currently in 7th. Currently on a three game losing streak so really needs to turn it around quickly. A win vs Larry next week would help more than anything.

Kevin - Currently in 11th. ESPN gives him a 2% change to make the playoffs. He has a points advantage over Dom, but being one game behind Dom makes it difficult to make the playoffs without some major luck.

Chris - Currently in last. Basically the same situation as Kevin. Needs a ton of shit to fall his way.

Week 12 Game of the Week:

Team Beiland (Larry) vs Doge 2 the Moon (Logan)

Big matchup for both of these guys. Logan trying to hold on to the first round bye while Larry needs wins to clinch a low see playoff spot. Logan is on a 4 game win streak while Larry is on a 2 game win streak. Most interesting is these two teams are only 6 points apart on the season.

The biggest story on Logan's side this week is whether or not Fields plays or not. The coaching staff is giving us anything from "day-to-day" to he may be shut down for the season. I honestly see no reason to risk his injuries any further. They're not going to make the playoffs and he's proven himself this season.

One more note on Logan's team. Does Taysom Hill continue to see QB work like he did last week? Just remember what happened when I tried to play Hill in the TE slot when he was playing QB two years ago. The league voted that it wasn't fair I could do that so I dropped him.

Larry's team was falling apart, but thanks to a couple of trades from Bryan, he's turned his season around. Burrow can't stop throwing TDs. JT went from being a bum to averaging close to 20 points since the coaching change. Tony Pollard has become a freak of nature all of a sudden. Godwin finally scored a TD and put up a good week. Finally, he has two of the best TEs plus a top 3 TE currently injured on his bench.

I honestly think Larry may win his last 3 games of the season. If he did that it's possible he could get the Weatherford bye. I think Weatherford is in for a wild end of season.

I'm taking Larry here because as of Wednesday night I just don't think Fields plays another game this year.

Commissioner's Pick: Team Beiland - Larry (Commissioner's Record 10-3)
